Komvux

Komvux – municipal adult education – offers education and qualifications for adult citizens.

Komvux offers theoretical education at basic and upper secondary school level, as well as vocational training. Individual demand and external needs determine the courses and training programmes on offer. The rate of study can be full-time or part-time. There are also good opportunities for flexible learning, e.g. distance learning. All education is free of charge (excluding learning materials) and students are entitled to financial support. Komvux also offers labour market training and skills enhancement in the workplace. This is done in close cooperation with the business sector.

Each year around 3 500 people study within municipal adult education, Komvux, in Eskilstuna.

The Labour Market and Family Welfare Committee is responsible for adult education.

Higher education

Eskilstuna is an expanding university town. This year there are about 6,000 students studying in Eskilstuna. The Mälardalen University is a twin university with locations in both Eskilstuna and Västerås which is situated 50 kilometres due north of Eskilstuna.
